Role overview and accountabilities
Overview:
Are you a Music Therapist with training in Neurologic Music Therapy® and/or experience working in neurorehabilitation? Chiltern Music Therapy have a 1-day week post for a Neurologic Music Therapist looking to join a small NMT™ team at a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care setting in Daventry.
Accountabilities:
- Delivering individual and group sessions for 1-day a week for people with neurological illnesses, acquired brain and spinal cord injuries
- Liaising with our other onsite NMT Therapist to coordinate referrals and manage referrals
- Working jointly with Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Physiotherapists and other members of the multidisciplinary team
- Working flexibly with the service to meet their needs
Person specification
Essential requirements:
- HCPC registration and enhanced DBS check
- Confident and self-motivated individual
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- A high level of vocal skills and keyboard and/or guitar skills, and confidence in using percussion instruments
- Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- A full driving licence with access to a vehicle or use of public transport is required
Desirables:
- Previous experience working within neurorehabilitation
- Additional training in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT)
- Certified training in MATADOC (Music Therapy Assessment Tool for Awareness in Disorders of Consciousness).
