Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book?
You can book just one session or a block of sessions. Many people like to try one first before booking more, and that’s completely fine.
How far in advance can I book?
We publish all the dates for the current block in advance so that you can plan ahead. Bookings for each session close 24 hours beforehand, so it’s best to reserve your spot a couple of days early to make sure you don’t miss out.
What if I need to cancel?
If you cancel at least 24 hours before your session, we’ll give you a credit to use for another session.
What technology do I need?
- A laptop or tablet works best, but a phone is okay too.
- Headphones are optional.
- You’ll just need a steady internet connection.
Do I need to be musical or have an instrument?
Not at all! No musical skills are needed. The focus is on connection and communication.
If you have an instrument, you’re welcome to use it, but we’ll mainly use our voices, body percussion, or small instruments.
Can I meet my Music Therapist first?
Yes. You can read about our therapists on the website, and if you’d like a quick chat before joining a group, just contact us and we’ll arrange it.
What if I have a technical issue on the day?
Contact us and we’ll do our best to help you.
What if I struggle to understand or communicate during the session?
- You can use pictures, writing, or other communication aids.
- Ask the therapist to repeat, slow down, or show something visually.
- You’re welcome to have a family member, friend, or support worker with you.
This is your space to enjoy music, connect, and express yourself in whatever way feels right for you.
What will happen in a session?
Each session will look a bit different as we get to know each other and your musical preferences. But every session will include a warm-up, some breathing exercises, some familiar song singing and some rhythmic activities. Remember the focus is on communication and connection - not on how good we all sound.
How many people will be in a session?
We intend to keep each group small enough to ensure that everyone has the support they need. Each group will have a maximum of 10 participants.
What if the session I want to attend is already booked up?
We will keep you on a waiting list in case of a cancellation.
