Aphasia is a condition that affects how people use and understand language. It can make speaking, following conversations, reading, or writing difficult, but it doesn’t affect intelligence. People with aphasia still know what they want to say, the challenge is finding the words. Our online aphasia groups are a safe, friendly space where people who live with aphasia can make music, connect with others who understand and work towards personal goals at their own pace. In this group, Music Therapists use singing, rhythm, and sound in a way that helps people with aphasia find new ways to communicate and connect.
Chiltern Music Therapy is a not-for-profit organisation using music to help people of all ages connect, communicate, and thrive. We believe in a caring world where music therapy is a transformative thread in everyday life.
Together, we harness the power of music, inspire through human story, and fascinate through science to light up a network of champions.
