To practise as a Music Therapist in the UK you need to complete an approved postgraduate music therapy training course and then register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Courses usually look for a strong musical background, relevant experience of working with people, and the personal qualities needed to build safe therapeutic relationships.
If you are considering this as a career, our online course Introduction to music therapy as a career is a good place to start.
