Overview

Our interactive music-making workshop for children and young people with PMLD is a one-of-a-kind experience that will bring joy, creativity and self-expression to a child's life. Designed by Music Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists, this workshop is tailored to the unique needs of children and young people with PMLD, allowing them to fully participate and benefit from the experience.

Music is a powerful form of communication that can be used to express emotions, build relationships and improve overall wellbeing. Our workshop will allow your child to explore the world of music in a safe and nurturing environment, whilst also promoting social interaction, executive function skills and communication skills.

Whether in a classroom setting or in a larger setting with parents, our workshops are all about stimulating senses, learning through play and having fun!

What to Expect

Our experienced group leader will guide the group through a variety of music-making activities that include:

  • Call and response
  • Eye tracking
  • Multi-sensory object interaction
  • Peer interaction
  • Non-verbal communication strategies

Parents, carers and teachers are invited to join in and observe children's progress and participation. This one-hour session is a great opportunity to create an enjoyable and meaningful experience.

Cost

Schools - £150 for a 1 hour workshop.

If it is run as an after school/holiday workshop that parents will pay for, the cost is £10 per child instead (minimum 11 participants).

Each child can have an accompanying adult at no additional charge.
