Inclusive Music Group Launches in Chesham

Chiltern Music Therapy is delighted to introduce Chesham Beats. A new weekly music group designed for people with learning disabilities, autism and additional needs.

August 6, 2026

Launching on Thursday 27th August 2026, Chesham Beats offers a welcoming and inclusive space where participants can enjoy making music together in a relaxed and supportive environment.

The group will be led by a qualified Music Therapist and uses shared musical experiences to encourage communication and interaction. There is no expectation of musical ability or previous experience. Everyone is welcome to join in at their own pace with the emphasis on having a good time, enjoying something different and being part of a group.

Music has a unique way of bringing people together, creating opportunities for connection that don't always rely on words. Through playing instruments and singing in a group, participants can explore new ways to communicate and express themselves.

Each weekly session includes a variety of musical activities, including:

  • Singing familiar and new songs
  • Playing accessible musical instruments
  • Creative music-making in a supportive environment
  • Opportunities to interact and connect with others
  • Activities that encourage confidence, communication and social development

Every session is designed to be inclusive and accessible, allowing participants to engage in a way that feels comfortable for them.

Chesham Beats takes place every Thursday from 2.00pm–2.45pm at:

White Hill Centre

Chesham
HP5 1AG

There is a fee to attend the sessions. If cost is a concern, we encourage you to get in touch, as subsidised places may be available. We're always happy to discuss the options and help make the group as accessible as possible.

Whether you're looking for an enjoyable weekly activity, opportunities to build confidence and communication skills, or simply a welcoming place to make music with others, we'd love to welcome you to Chesham Beats.

To find out more or enquire about joining the group, please call 01442 780541 or contact the Chiltern Music Therapy team through our website.

We look forward to making music with you!
